Read Across America Day - Monday, March 2nd

Hello Families,

Just wanted to let you know that next Monday, March 2nd, is READ ACROSS AMERICA day.  We celebrate this day by focusing on the amazing children’s author Dr. Seuss.  We will be reading stories, making rhymes, and enjoying general silliness that comes from reading the many amazing stories he gave to the world.

Your child is welcome to dress crazy (mis-match clothes, socks, accessories, etc.) and wear a crazy hat for the festivities.  They may also bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss Book to share with the class.  I will make a graph of which books were brought in and see which stories were the most popular.

Parents are also encouraged to stop in throughout the day for 30-60 minutes to share in the fun.  Read books, play games, and help encourage a genuine love for books!

If anyone has a portable griddle that they would be willing to bring in, that would be great, as I would like to make green eggs and ham with the class.  I will bring the food, but if 1 or 2 parents would be up for preparing and cooking while I am managing the chaos, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again, and I hope to see you on Monday.
-Mr. Linnet
