This
week is a fun research project based on learning that has taken place in the
classroom. In collaboration with our
“Plants” unit, we have been reading about and studying some of America’s
National Parks. We have learned about
the Sequoia Trees in Sequoia National Park, the Saguaro Cactus in Saguaro
National Park, the wetlands in Everglades National Park, and the
rock formations in Badlands National Park. I have also added a “WebRangers” link to our blog that
allows students to explore various parks, plants and animals that they find
interesting. What I would like for you
to do this week at home is explore the National Park website (http://www.nps.gov/index.htm) and help
your child select a National Park to do a report on. Explore the webpage and write notes on the provided page about
what you learn. You can also explore
other websites & YouTube to see videos about the National Park you have
selected. Feel free to post pictures or
maps on the back of the report page for your child to share with the class on
Friday.
Every student that completes
the Report and shares their information at the end of the week
will receive a
special “Student Ranger” Certificate!!
Have fun, Explorers!!
