This week's project is working with ABC Order. The animals are all jumbled up at the bottom of the page, can your children put them in order? You can do this as a worksheet (as I modeled for you below), or you can NOT glue the pictures on the rocks and turn it into a game. Game directions are at the bottom. Feel free to email a picture of you and your child doing this project or playing it in a game and I will add it to our blog!
Step 1: Color the Pictures. Step 2: Cut them Out. |
Step 3: Glue the Pictures in ABC Order. Step 4: Label each picture with beginning letter. |
*Optional: Mark off unused letters at the top to help child put them in order. *Write the name of each picture for your child to practice reading the names of the animals. |
*Game option: After your child colors and cuts out the pictures, you can label the rocks with the letters, then have them take turns pulling the pictures out of a cup/bag and trying to match it with the letter. The nice thing about this option, is you can reuse it again and again as a game to help your child develop phonemic awareness skills by matching letters and sounds with the pictures. Have fun!!
