Summer Homework: Get Unplugged & Enjoy the Great Outdoors!!!

Okay Friends,

Here's my challenge to you:  turn off the TV, Video Games, Computers and Tablets.
Get Outside and Explore!  Do something different every week.  Biking, Swimming, Camping, whatever you and your family are interested in, but do something outside at least once per week.  Then send me your pics or videos with a short description of where you are and what you are doing.  I will share your posts on our blog so others can try whatever fun things you find.  Sky and I will post stuff, too!

Let this video above inspire you, then turn off Angry Birds and go to the park and try to identify some birds.  Unplug from Minecraft and take a guided tour through one of the many State Parks (where you can truly craft your mind)!!

I will keep this challenge up until the start of school in mid August.  You can post once, or once per day, whatever you want.  Let's just fill this blog up with all the amazing things we can do in nature.

Happy Adventuring!!
-Mr. Linnet

P.S.  I will give a secret prize to everyone that participates when school starts up again.  To get the prize, you just have to complete the homework assignment.  I can't wait to see how all of you are enjoying your summer!!

Skylar decided to develop his entrepreneurial skills this past weekend by hosting a Lemonade Stand in our front driveway.  He had a lot of fun selling lemonade to thirsty neighbors, and even made a couple bucks.  Not a bad way to spend a hot afternoon outside!!

BIKE SAFETY DAY for the Last Day of School!

Today we learned about bike safety in class.  To celebrate the last day of school, I am encouraging students to ride their bike to school tomorrow.  Ask your child what they learned about bike safety, check their bike and helmet, and have fun riding and modeling bike safety on your way to school tomorrow!!

*Check the bike height.
*Check the tire pressure.
*Check the brakes.
*Check the handlebars.
*Check the helmet.
*Check the reflectors.
*Check the bike lock.

Bike Safety is Cool!
Have fun riding your bikes this summer!!
